Two kinds of track in the catalog
Every track GlitchedWaves publishes falls into exactly one of these two categories. The title tells you which one you're looking at.
The short version: we're a free promotion channel, not a record label, and every track's usage rights are labeled in the title. Here's the full breakdown.

Licensing & usage rights
When a track's title ends in (Free for use), the artist has agreed to let creators use it as background music in their own YouTube videos. To earn that tag, the artist specifically agrees not to monetize videos that use the track and to allow the use itself — that trade is what makes the track genuinely free for the creator, rather than free only until a claim shows up later.
No. Tracks without the tag are promoted under the artist's standard copyright and are not cleared for use in videos or other content. They're published for listening and promotion only. If you want to use one of these tracks, you'll need a separate license from the artist directly — reach out through Contact and we can help point you in the right direction.
The Free for use tag specifically covers use in YouTube videos, where the artist has agreed not to file monetization claims against creators who use the track. It doesn't automatically extend to other platforms, broadcast, advertising, or commercial products. If you're planning to use a track outside of a YouTube video, check with us first.
You shouldn't. The whole point of the Free for use agreement is that the artist has opted out of monetizing videos built with that track. If you do see a claim on a properly tagged track, let us know through Contact with a link to your video and we'll follow up with the artist.
It's not required, but it's genuinely appreciated. Free for use tracks are still someone's work — a link back to the original upload in your description goes a long way for an independent artist trying to grow.
About GlitchedWaves
No — GlitchedWaves is a promotion channel. We don't sign artists, take ownership of masters, or hold publishing rights. Submitting a track to us means asking for free promotion, not joining a label roster. Artists keep full control of their work throughout.
No. Submissions, review, and promotion are all free, with no paid tiers that jump the queue. Every accepted track gets the same shot at the channel regardless of budget.
You do. When you submit a track, you choose whether to release it under standard copyright or opt into the Free for use terms — agreeing not to monetize videos that use it and allowing that use on YouTube. GlitchedWaves labels the release according to your choice; we don't apply the tag on your behalf.
Use the submission form — it takes about two minutes and asks for your track, artwork, and links. The team listens to every submission personally and checks it against the catalog's sound and clearance standards before scheduling a release.
Reach the team directly through Contact — licensing questions, collaborations, and press all go through the same form.
Submit your demo today — free promotion, no strings, no fees. If it fits the sound, we'll help it find its listeners.
